1 – Address where to get treatment:

Tel: +381 11 4300350
2 – How to make an appointment:
When I search for hemodialysis in Cuba, I found one internet page only: Latitud Cuba. It’s an agency that works in the tourism area and deals with healthcare issues if you need so. They take care of all communication between patient and clinic. It was by email I have booked treatments in Havana and Varadero.
Find below the clinic email contact as well as nephrologist’s.

3 – How to get there:
For lodging in the center of Varadero, it was easy for me to get to the clinic by foot or on a scooter for instance. Yet so, after speaking to the doctor in charge, I acknowledge the clinic has an ambulance that carries patients to resorts or hotels in Varadero.
4 – My experience and what went well:
Healthcare professionals availability and kindness. Always checking if I was doing well. In general, I found the clinic a very good one.
It only deals with tourists and I noticed they are acquainted with people from all around the world. The nurses and the doctor made me feel at home.
It is worth emphasizing its wonderful view, directly to the turquoise blue sea of the Caribbean.
5 – What can be improved:
There is no WiFi and TV plays movies in Spanish only. Besides, the clinic doesn’t provide food.
6 – Cost of treatment:
I paid 190CUC per session (around 170€) – tax included. At the beginning of each session I had a brief check up with the doctor, at no additional charge. Payment is due after each treatment in cash or credit card. Receipt is always issued.
7 – Evaluation:
I rate this clinic with 4 stars. The level of care and treatment is very good, though small aspects mentioned above need improvement.
8 – Medical Examinations Required (all from the past three months):
– Medical Report record
– Terms of prescription for HD treatment
– Patient weight
– Patient standard/normal medication
